Fulham midfielder Pajtim Kasami admitted that he scored the best goal of his career last night helping Fulham to beat Crystal Palace 4-1 at Selhurst Park.

Crystal Palace took the lead early on following a goal by Adrian Mariappa before Kasami took Sascha Riether’s on his chest to volley a tremendous shop past Julian Speroni in the Palace goal to put the visitors level.

Fulham’s Steve Sidwell put the Cottagers in front with another volley before Dimitar Berbatov and Philippe Senderos struck to give Fulham all three points leaving the Palace fans to wonder if the defeat means the end for manager Ian Holloway

“No, to be honest,” Kasami told Sky Sports when asked if he had scored a better goal.

“I’m very pleased that we won that game as we were losing 1-0. Thanks to Sascha for the great ball and it was an unbelievable goal. I’m very pleased.

“I saw Sascha had the ball and saw I could run in the space. It came perfect to my chest and I took it direct with my right foot.”

Prior to the break for the world Cup qualifiers Fulham had beaten Stoke with Kasami adding: “I’m very pleased for these two great wins. It gives us a lot of confidence if we keep playing like that and we can improve.”

Prior to the two wins Fulham boss Martin Jol was under pressure but hopefully the two wins will alleviate the situation.
