Inter Milan Ivan Perisic could soon be on his way to Old Trafford

British tabloid newspaper, The Sun is reporting this morning that Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho has flown from Manchester to Croatia to meet with Inter Milan’s hotshot – Ivan Perisic.

Mourinho, once manager of Inter Milan, is supposedly attending tonight’s World Cup Qualifier between Croatia and the Ukraine and is looking to quickly pull a transfer coup under the noses of rivals Chelsea and Liverpool as well as a number of other European clubs who have been tracking Perisic.

The 28 year old striker has been in fine form since last summer’s European Championships in France and is well remembered for his winning goal against competition holders Spain, who eventually went out at the group stages. His form for the national team has carried over to his club career and the Croatian has managed to produce 9 goals and 7 assists so far this season for Inter Milan.

With Mourinho’s links to Inter, the ‘Special One’ believes he has an advantage in signing the star striker as he has close ties with agent Predrag Mijatovic, who looks after a number of Balkan based super-stars such as Luka Modric, who Mourinho signed when at Real Madrid and Mijatovic was Real’s Sporting Director at the time.

United are being linked with a number of strikers at the moment – Griezmann, Lukaku, Mbappe and now Perisic. Its unlikely all these players will be making their way to Old Trafford this summer – but if Mourinho is spotted at tonight’s game – its likely we’ll be seeing a lot more speculation around Perisic being linked with a move away from the San Siro to Old Trafford.
