The hammers are desperate to sign a striker, and now appear to be rivalling Arsenal for the signing of Demba Ba.
According to the BBC’s Ben Smith who said: “While Arsenal remain strong favourites to sign Ba, West Ham believe they have a slim chance of hijacking the deal and bringing them former striker back to East London on a season-long long.
“That deal could be partly funded by the departure of Ricardo Vaz Te. Norwich have made a move to sign the forward on loan but West Ham would rather the player leave on a permanent deal.”
