Southampton look set to miss out on their three main transfer targets this summer

Roma forward Pablo Osvaldo, Cagliari’s Radja Nainggolan and Victor Wanyama all look set to snub moves to the St.Marys.

Mauricio Pochettino has been given a sizable budget with the club looking to kick on this summer, however he may have to approach other targets.

Celtic’s Wanyama is believed to want to continue playing European football, something which the Saints can’t offer.

The Kenyan defensive midfielder has been linked with a move to the Premier League ever since bursting onto the Celtic scene and a move to England would be the next logical step.

Turkish duo Fenerbache and Galatasaray have apparently upped their interest in Wanyama and do offer Champions League football which could swing the deal in their favour.

Serie A duo

Osvaldo has been told he can leave Roma this year and played under Pochettino at Espanyol.

The Argentine-born Italian international, who has consistently fallen out with Roma officials isn’t keen on a move to the Premier League.

Osvaldo has been linked with both Tottenham and Fulham, however wants to remain in Serie A or return to La Liga where he enjoyed a great year with Espanyol.

Their other Serie A target Nainggolan has made comments that highly suggest he fancies the St Marys.

‘Southampton gave me the biggest offer at the moment among the clubs interest, but I don’t play football for money. Southampton are my last choice.’
