HARRY REDKNAPP started his Houdini act at QPR with a point and roared: “I can keep this lot up.”

Rock-bottom Rangers are still looking for their first win of the season.

But new boss Redknapp insisted: “I saw enough tonight to think we have a real chance. It was a good point and we worked hard but it’s still a very tough job.

“We got the best out of what we had.

“There are areas we need to work on, we can’t pluck anyone out of the air to come in, so we have to get the best out of what we have. At least I kept Martin O’Neill quiet for once — he wasn’t jumping around.

“It’s going to be tough, look at the position we are in. But if we can get them to work together we will have a chance.

“Confidence has to be a bit shot but you just have to keep telling them they are good and they start to believe it.

“We need to make Loftus Road like Portsmouth’s ground. We have to make it a tough place to come — starting against Villa on Saturday.

They have now won just four Premier League games out of the last 27 and are being dragged deep into the relegation scrap.

Boss O’Neill said: “It was a frustrating evening for us. Losing Lee Cattermole early didn’t help and handicapped us.

“I knew they would be buoyed by Harry’s arrival but I thought we would be able to break them down.

“It’s difficult for us at the moment because we are not playing with confidence.

“You have to be able to play the ball you choose and not the one the crowd want you to play.

“We just have to tough it out.”
