Diego Contento is confident that Bayern Munich have what it takes to reach the semi-finals of the Champions League at the expense of Juventus.

The left-back realises that the Serie A champions will not be pushovers, but he is nonetheless optimistic about Bayern’s chances of seeing off the Bianconeri in the quarter-finals of the competition.

“Juventus are an excellent team with a number of great individual talents. It’s not a coincidence that they top the Serie A table,” Contento was quoted as saying by Eurosport.

“It will be a difficult tie for us. However, I am convinced that we will emerge victorious and make it to the semi-finals.”

The 22-year-old then went on to discuss his future at Bayern Munich and hinted that he could stay at the Bavarians for the remainder of his playing days.

“I can imagine staying at Bayern my entire career. I am feeling very well here and it would be silly to rule out that option. It’s not something I think about often, though, at my age,” he added.

“I feel a strong bond with Bayern as I was born here. However, things can go pretty fast in football. It’s impossible to say where you will stand in five years’ time.”

Contento has a contract with Bayern until the summer of 2016.
