Juventus coach Antonio Conte will possibly have to make do without the services of Martin Caceres as the versatile defender has picked up a head injury in a car accident on Sunday, though it is not thought to be serious.

The 25-year-old was taken to a local hospital after the accident, and will undergo treatment and a series of tests in a private clinic in the upcoming days.

“Martin Caceres has been discharged from Turin’s CTO medical centre after being involved in a road accident in the early hours of Sunday morning,” a statement on the club’s website reads.

“The Uruguayan has been moved to the Clinica Fornaca di Sessant and was visited earlier by Dr. Bennech and plastic surgeon Dr. Marco Fraccalvieri.

“He is in a good condition and will spend the next couple of days undergoing treatment and necessary tests at the clinic.

“The diagnosis is a head injury, with a lacerated contusion wound to his scalp and right cheekbone.”

Caceres has made 14 Serie A appearances for Juve this term, netting once in the process.
