Following their 1-1 draw with Atletico Madrid that saw the La Liga title go to the team from the capital, and the resignation of trainer Tata Martino, big changes are in store for the Catalan giants with club president Josep Bartomeu warning “Now comes the time for major changes”.

One of those changes will see a host of players leaving the club that could involve Mascherano, Song, Peter, Alexis, Tello and Alves. Fabregas is thought to have been officially put on the market first with a price tag of 40 million euros to see if they can entice a Premiership club to sign him, and to show they are serious about letting players leave.

The former Arsenal man was wanted by David Moyes for Manchester United last summer, so it will be interesting to see if the Red Devils still have a desire to bring him to Old Trafford.

Barcelona’s sporting director Andoni Zubizarreta would like to make Juventus star Paul Pogba his first new buy, but faces stiff opposition from Real Madrid.

The first though according to Spanish football newspaper MARCA is to see how much interest they can get from the sale of Fabregas before putting other players up for sale.
