Teenage midfield sensation Gedion Zelalem is set to sign a three-year deal with the Gunners as he looks to be fast tracked into the senior squad.

The 17-year-old made history when he played against Coventry in the FA Cup becoming the first player born after manager Arsene Wenger took charge of the club to play in one of his teams.

Zelalem’s talent first came to light during Arsenal’s pre-season tour of the Far East last summer

Leading to high praise from Jack Wilshere when he said: ‘He sees passes that not a lot of players can and he’s so comfortable on the ball. Even in training, he’s a nightmare to play against.’

Wilshere went on to say: ‘He keeps the ball away from you and shields it. He’s not very big but he’s strong. He drifts in and out of players. Technically, he’s right up there. He can use his left and right and he sees so many passes.’

Born in Berlin to Ethiopian parents, but brought up in the United States the youngster is eligible to play for three countries although he now plays as a German youth international.
