Xavi has voiced his opinion that Barcelona must be more ruthless in front of goal if they are to be successful this season.

The Blaugrana became the first European top flight team to net 100 goals in all competitions this term following their 4-2 win over Malaga on Thursday, but the 33-year-old has insisted that they will have to improve their finishing.

“We just need to be a little bit more effective in front of goal to finish games off,” he was quoted as saying on the club’s official website.

“I think we are at a good level and we are enjoying ourselves right now- I always feel good when I’ve got players in front of the ball.

“We’re in good form and we have a good atmosphere in the dressing room and you can see that reflected on the pitch. You get used to winning and then it hurts when you lose.”

Barcelona will be looking to return to winning ways against Osasuna on Sunday after losing their last Liga game against Real Sociedad.
