West Ham face a major battle to sign Fabio Quagliarella after his agent revealed that the Italian striker looks set to stay at Juventus.

The east London club have been strongly linked with a move for the exciting forward who has only started 11 league games this season.

Quagliarella remains the top scorer for the Italian giants this season and was being tipped to leave the club at the end of the season.

Wolfsburg and Fenerbahce have also been linked with a move for the 30-year-old forward.

But despite his failure to command a regular first-team place, Quagliarella’s agent Beppe Bozzo does not expect him to leave Juventus during the summer.

Bozzo, speaking on Italian website Tutto Mercato, said: “Despite all the market rumours, I think that Juventus are ultra-convinced of keeping him.

“He has shown that he can be counted on, that he always responds every time that he is called upon.

“He’s reached the maturity that you need that allows you to continue playing for a great side.

“The manager has done well to rotate his attackers and not assure anyone a starting shirt. If new forwards arrive then that will not only be a problem for Fabio.”
