Arsenal, Arsene Wenger

Arsene Wenger feels that it will be difficult for the Gunners to catch up with Chelsea now following the away loss at Stoke City, but has hit back at people saying that Arsenal’s form has dipped as of late.

Arsenal now trails Chelsea by four points and dropped down the table to third now on equal points with Liverpool who have a better goal difference following the Reds 0-3 away win at Southampton.

The 64-year-old Wenger went on to describe his team’s loss at the Britannia Stadium as a “big worry” and a “major setback” with only ten games remaining in the premier League season.

He did insist however telling Sky Sports that he would not pass comment on the Gunners title prospect at this point in the proceedings, yet when asked how difficult it will be to close the gap between Arsenal and Chelsea said: “We cannot say it’s easy.

“It is difficult, but I expected them to win at Fulham.”

The Frenchman also said that he is not worried about his team’s ability to bounce back, and when it was suggested to him that Arsenal always cave in at this point in the season said: “I would say look at our results at the crucial point in the season and you would be surprised.

“Somebody says something that is not checked and everyone repeats it and it becomes an opinion, even if the facts don’t show it.

“Our end of season has always been very strong.”
