Demba Ba

According to reports in the Daily Star Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has decided to make a bid for Chelsea striker Demba Ba as a temporary solution to his attacking problems at Arsenal.

The 28-year-old Ba has been a fringe player since joining Chelsea from Newcastle and has been unable to capture the form he showed at his former club scoring just three times for Chelsea in 22 appearances.

Wenger has been talking up the need to bring in a new striker as cover for Oliver Giroud, and now that Nicklas Bendtner has been side-lined and that Theo Walcott is out for the season the need to bring in another front man is urgent.

Not want to make rash decisions the Frenchman may try to get the Senegalese striker on loan as a temporary measure for now, but it poses the question as to why Chelsea would help Premiership rivals Arsenal so I do not see this happening in January with the title race so close.

This is what Wenger had to say about a new striker:

“Nothing has changed because we are open to a possible solution and if something interesting turns up we will do it,” Wenger said.

“It could be a loan as well yes, but we are not in talks with Real about anybody.”
