Hearts have made an offer to sign Sunderland striker Ryan Noble on loan for the rest of the season.

Noble has yet to establish himself in the first-team picture at Sunderland and could be allowed out on loan to gain further experience.

The 21-year-old had a second spell with Hartlepool United earlier this campaign and has also previously taken in two stints at Derby County.

He has made six substitute appearances during his Sunderland career, but could now have the chance to move to the SPL on a temporary basis.

Hearts have already brought in two players from the Premier League on loan this month after signing Liverpool duo Danny Wilson and Michael Ngoo.

Young striker Ngoo made an instant impact for Hearts by scoring on his debut in Saturday’s Scottish Communities League Cup tie with Inverness, which John McGlynn’s side won on penalties after a 1-1 draw.
