According to Spanish newspaper AS the idea of Borussia Dortmund striker Robert Lewandowski moving to Bayern Munich has cooled somewhat despite a verbal agreement between the two clubs to allow the Polish international to join Bayern in the summer.

Real Madrid is going to be looking at bringing a new striker to the club in January if the form of current front man Karim Benzema does not improve, and Dortmund’s front man is out of contract in June allowing for Real Madrid to pick him up at a bargain price in January.

Last season the Pole scored 39 goals in 56 games, and has already racked up 13 goals this season prompting Los Blancos to take a serious interest.

Lewandowski revealed that after last season’s semifinal round of the Champions League in which the German side knocked up Real Madrid he spoke to Real Madrid president Florentino Perez in the locker room at the Bernabeu after the match.

Dortmund would prefer to see their striker move abroad rather than to a Bundesliga rival, but as is the case with many players in the German league they tend to be quite content to stay in Germany.

Other possible signing targets for Real Madrid are Liverpool’s Luis Suarez, and Monaco’s Radamel Falcao who is said to have a clause in his contract allowing him to leave if the Spanish giants came knocking.
