Preview Barcelona v Valencia

The game I am looking forward to the most this week is Barcelona against Valencia in the Nou Camp.

If I was a betting man I would stick my neck out on this one and bet the draw.

My reasons for thinking that the match is going to be a draw are two fold in that I know the team has strength in Depth but with Super Copa match midweek they will again be a little tired and beat up following another encounter with Real Madrid a team desperate to start scoring.

There is also talk that Italian Serie A side Juventus are in need of a striker after failing in their attempt to sign RVP.

They want Fernando Llorente, from Athletic Bilbao, but Athletic will not let him leave for less than his reputed 34€ buy-out-clause causing the Bianconeri as reported in the Spanish newspaper El Comercio to turn their attention to David Villa.

I am not so sure that Villa would like to move yet with so many big stars in the Barcelona side it might just be the opportunity for him to be the star of a team rather than just another player as he is now.

Valencia Have not lost yet this season, and are still on a moral boosting high after coming away from the Bernabeu with a point.

In last weekend match they were cruising to a 3-1 win against Deportivo but let the visitors get back into the game and were punished from a set piece, and then a harsh penalty decision.

Valencia has been defending well playing in their new 4-4-2 formation that has seen them deadly in the counter attack.

Barca already has a five point lead over Los Blanco’s, and I can see Pellegrino’s men coming away with a point at the Nou Camp.

Whatever happens I expect it to be one of the better games on television next weekend with plenty of goals to shout about.
