Roberto Martinez

Everton manager Roberto Martinez is playing his cards very close to his chest this transfer window and is refusing to being drawn in on possible targets as the Toffee’s push towards European football.

When asked about a move for Dundee defender Andrew Robertson the Spaniard told Sky Sports: “We know exactly what we want and will try to make it happen, but it is not a matter of rushing things.

“What we want to do is make sure that we don’t lose any of our top performers from the first half of the season. If anything, we want to bring one or two faces who could cover an area where we are going to be a little bit weaker in the second half of the season.

“Bearing in mind we had five games in the space of 14 days, this squad has reacted in a great manner and the last thing I would like to do is to bring in someone who would dislodge that mentality

“We have a great feeling in the dressing room and this window we have something to lose and something to gain with adding players.
