Liverpool, Arsenal

Saturday’s early Kick-off at Anfield could be the match that defines the season for both Arsenal and Liverpool with both teams realizing that a draw would be tantamount to a loss.

The Gunners need all three points to keep their nose just above Manchester City and Chelsea, while Liverpool needs a win to keep their top-four aspirations alive after only winning one of their past three games.

The match marks the start of what will be an epic month for Arsenal that sees the Gunners play some of the league’s top clubs along with home and away matches against Bayern Munich in the Champions League.

It is almost ten years since Arsenal last won the league and a lack of silverware in other competitions certainly has not gone unnoticed by the fans either, with Liverpool also determining if Arsenal will move on in the FA Cup when the two sides meet again at the Emirates just a week later.

While Liverpool have for the most part been solid at home having only lost one match against Southampton early in the season Arsenal can take solace in knowing that the clubs form at Anfield has been good over recent years with Liverpool last beating them back in 2007.

Since then the Gunners have managed to come away with three wins and three draws a record they would like to see continue when the two sides meet for what will undoubtedly be the match of the weekend.
