Liverpool is all set to battle Chelsea and Arsenal for the signature of Italian striker Stephan El Shaarawy who wants to get away from the San Siro.

Now that Mario Balotelli is the preferred striker at AC Milan El Shaarawy finds himself more often than not sitting on the bench and with big Premiership clubs looking at him that also include Arsenal, Chelsea and Tottenham,  Liverpool  could face some still opposition in landing the 20-year-old.

The youngster burst onto the scene last season scoring 16 goals for AC Milan, but since the arrival of Balotelli from Manchester City he is getting less and less playing time.

Liverpool are known to be the club looking for new young talent as manager Brendan Rodgers looks to rebuild the team, and after the performance current top striker Luis Suarez put in yesterday against West Bromwich Albion with a stunning hat-trick the Reds could very well be making the signing of a new striker a top priority if Real Madrid come calling in January as is expected.

Shaarawy will not come cheap at around £25 million but it will be pocket change for the Reds should Luis Suarez leave.
