With news not yet out on how serious the injury to Lucas Leiva is, Sports Direct News is reporting that Liverpool are looking at AC Milan’s defensive midfielder Nigel De Jong as a possible replacement for Lucas.

With new manager Clarence Seedorf in charge of the Rossoneri it is hard to imagine that after such a short spell at the helm he would want to start selling players however should Liverpool approach the Italian giants with a good loan proposal they may be willing to let him go till the end of the season.

The former Manchester City player moved to Milan in 2012 after falling down the pecking order at the Etihad and has since gone on to make 40 appearances for Milan and is regarded as a starter in the team playing 18 times this season where has provided three assists.

Liverpool who is currently fourth in the English Premiership sees De Jong as being able to slip effortlessly into their 4-3-3 formation.
