Giannelli Imbula, Marseille

Chelsea has already set £50 million aside to procure the signings of midfielder Giannelli Imbula from Marseille and Porto defender Eliaquim Mangala when the January transfer window opens.

Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho is anxious to add to his team in the New Year, and has singled out these two players for the Blues.

Mangala who plays in the centre-back position was of interest to Manchester United during the summer but the clubs involved could not manage to put a deal together once it was known that the player has a £37 million buyout clause in his contract.

The Chelsea boss is thought to be a big fan of the French international, and will not be put off  by the players buyout clause if he thinks he is the right fit for Chelsea, however, with his contacts in Portugal he hope to be able to sign him for around £25 million.

Imbula is said to be valued for around £25 million also, and is Mourinho’s second choice after finding out that Juventus would not part with Paul Pogba for less than £40 million.
