According to French sports daily newspaper L’Equipe Chelsea have completed the signing of Saint Etienne defender Kurt Zouma in a deal worth £12.4 million.
Radio station RMC is claiming that the Blues have tied up a 15 million euro deal for the 19-year-old and that he has agreed personal terms with the club.
Despite the move being completed in January Zouma could remain with his current club until the end of the season.
Roland Romeyer St Etienne’s co-president had previously said: “Some clubs have launched a bid for the player, but we will not change our strategy.
“There have been discussions for Zouma with English, Italian and French clubs, but he will not be leaving this month unless we find an agreement with some of the potential buyers.
“If not, he will have to wait until the summer. We are under no obligation to sell.”
