Arsenal legend Dennis Bergkamp says that Arsenal is looking particularly good this season, and sees similarities between the current team, and the one he played for back in the late 1990’s.

Currently Arsene Wenger’s team are setting the pace in the Premier League sitting in first place after seven games.

When interviewed following the publication of his autobiography the Dutchman admitted he is a keen follower of the game, and is currently back at Ajax in the role of a coach , the club where he first started his footballing career, and although he could see himself back at Arsenal one day it would not be as a manager.

Talking to Sky about the current Arsenal team Bergkamp said: “I see a lot of freshness in the team.

“They are similar to my time at Arsenal. They have good movement, commitment, and a good passing game.

“They know what they want to do and what they need to do to go forward.

“It’s enjoyable to watch but it’s effective as well – which is good after something was missing these past few years.”

When discussing his future the 44-year-old said: “I’m settled here (Ajax).

“We’ve started something here and I’m looking forward to staying here for a few more years.

“I would love to go to England some time, preferably Arsenal. But I don’t see myself as a head coach or manager. I see myself as part of a coaching team.”
