Chelsea boss Rafael Benitez admits he is looking to be busy in January as the club continue to be linked with a move for Falcao.

The Champions League winners are now 11 points behind Manchester United at the top of the table and are expected to mount a stronger challenge in the second-half of the campaign.

And Benitez says that he wants to make signings in January – although he has emphasised that his primary objective is to improve the players he currently has at his disposal.

“It is important for any club to keep these things private, but yes, I think we will improve our team in January for sure,” he said.

“But it is just a question of keeping training, keeping coaching – and the commitment from the players is there.

“They want to improve things and that is the way to move forward. There are a lot of ways to improve the team.”
