German champions Bayern Munich have now thrown their hat in the ring to compete with Paris Saint-Germain to sign Chelsea midfielder Juan Mata.

Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho has made Juan Mata a fringe player since his return to London despite the 25-year-old being voted Chelsea player of the year for the past two seasons.

So far this season the Spanish international has only made 18 appearances in all competitions for the club, and was said to be furious after being substituted during Chelsea’s win against Southampton on New Year’s Day.

Reports in Mondays Daily Express  quoting German newspaper Bild  say that Bayern Munich manager Pep Guardiola is a huge admirer of the Spanish international and could offer Chelsea £20 million for him in the summer as he would not be eligible to play in this seasons Champions league after having already representing Chelsea in the competition.
