Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger is reportedly ready to pay £30 million for Newcastle United’s Yohan Cabaye and Davide Santon this January transfer window.

The website caughtoffside is reporting that having failed with a bid in the summer Wenger is ready to go back in with a larger bid closer to Newcastle’s asking price.

Arsenal set to bid £30m for Newcastle United Pair

Newcastle is thought to want around £22 million for the 27-year-old midfielder despite him only costing them £4.8 million back in 2011.

While an attacking midfielder does not seem to be one of the Gunners priorities Wenger feels that the Frenchman has a lot to offer his squad as they fight for silverware this season.

Italian international left back 23-year-old Davide Santon is also a player the French manager would like to have in his squad and thinks that bidding for the pair would give him the advantage over other clubs.
