In the last few days reports are suggesting that Chelsea defender David Luiz would take a cut in pay in order to join up with fellow Brazil teammates Dani Alves and Neymar at Barcelona.

According to Spanish newspaper El Mundo Deportivo Barcelona’s director of football, Raul Sanllehí is in London for discussions with Luiz’s agent Giuliano Bertolucci.

The player that Chelsea fans refer to as side show Bob after the character on the Simpsons remains a priority for Barcelona after having missed out to Paris Saint-Germain for Thiago Silva earlier in the summer.

Chelsea are under no pressure to sell Luiz and have told Barcelona that they will have to pay 46 million euro’s to secure a move to the Nou Camp.

My personal opinion is that Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho will sell the Brazilian defender for the right price, but another option for Barca would be to go after Liverpool’s Danish international Daniel Agger who at 28-years-old will not be a feature in the team manager Brendan Rodgers is putting together for the future.

Agger who still has a good few years left could be bought for half of what Chelsea would be looking to get for Luiz.
