Arsenals Mikel Arteta has told Gooners that there will be some new players arriving at the club but it could very well involve some last minute deals.

So far Arsenal have not signed a big name player this summer losing out to other clubs for everyone they have gone after, and while they have made two bids for Liverpool’s Luis Suarez the Reds claim they are nowhere near the price that the club has put on their star striker.

The Arsenal faithful are desperate to see the club bring in players that can help to win trophies, but are yet to see anything happen. Arteta has pleaded with fans to be patient with manager Arsene Wenger.

“It will happen,” declared the midfielder in the Daily Mirror, whose £10m move from Everton happened on transfer deadline day in August 2011.

“I have no doubts about it. It takes time but I know the boss is working really hard on it, and the board as well. It will happen for sure.

“I am very convinced but the great players normally come at the end of the transfer window. The clubs work hard to keep their best players and I think Arsenal will do well in the transfer window.

“I think we are going to start the season with new faces. That is what we are all hoping for. That will give us a big boost and everyone is very positive.

“We need to close the gap with the teams that are trying to win the titles. We have been too far in the last few seasons. We will start and see how it goes. We won’t be as far this season.”
