According to METRO Arsenal is to have offered Bundesliga side Schalke £20 million plus 28-year-old German international Lukas Podolski as bait to sign wunderkind Julian Draxler.
Draxler has a £37 million buyout clause in his contract that Schalke will hold out for knowing that they are in a position to wait until the summer if Arsenal is not prepared to pay what they are asking now for their prized possession.
Wenger really wants to sign the 20-year-old for Arsenal, and despite the fact Podolski is a crowd favourite at the Emirates he is not Arsene Wenger’s first choice as a striker or winger for the north London club.
