Sunday Express Sport is reporting that Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger is plotting a summer move for Manchester City midfielder Gareth Barry.

Wenger attempted to get the 32-year-old to join Arsenal last summer on loan, but City refused to let him leave to a team that they considered a rival and let him join Everton instead, where his current form has many people calling for him to be recalled to the England squad.

Everton manager Roberto Martinez has been so impressed by Barry’s form that he tried to get City to make his loan move permanent in January, but the deal fell apart when Barry who becomes a free agent at the end of the season said that he would like to keep his options open.

Wenger’s big summer target is still Julian Draxler but he believes he can also persuade Barry to join the Gunners as well.
