Cabaye, Arsenal, Newcastle,

It is no wonder that negotiations between Arsenal and Newcastle’s Yohan Cabaye have gone quiet if the following story that is going around is true, and that is that Newcastle United owner Mike Ashley allowed the French midfielder to hear a telephone call from Arsenal that he had recorded according to the BBC’s James Pearce who wrote on twitter.

I’m told Mike Ashley let Cabaye listen to phone negotiations last week + he heard Arsenal say: “25 million a lot for a reserve” #moodchanger

Newcastle had told Arsenal after receiving a bid of £10 million that they wanted more than £20 million for the French international.

Newcastle are demanding £20 million plus for Cabaye after immediately rejecting Arsenal’s initial offer of 10 million pounds.
