Luis Suarez has revealed his happiness at the progress made by Liverpool this season under Brendan Rodgers.
Suarez has been a central figure at Anfield under Rodgers, scoring 29 goals so far this season – 22 of them in the league. No other player has reached double figures, with captain Steven Gerrard the club’s second-highest scorer with nine goals, a full 20 behind the Uruguayan.
Currently on international duty ahead of matches against Paraguay and Chile, Suarez has been linked with a move away from the Merseyside club but insists he is content with the steps taking this season, Rodgers’ first in charge after leaving Swansea City last summer.
“I’m having a nice time because the club is growing and I feel I’m helping personally,” Suarez said. “I do not know if I’m in the best form but I feel like it’s my fate to score and I have to take advantage,” he added.
Liverpool are currently seventh in the Premier League table, three points behind near neighbours Everton and nine short of the Champions League places having lost 3-1 away at Southampton in their last outing.
