CHELSEA’S John Terry will be expected to wear an anti-racist armband tonight against Shakhtar Donetsk.

UEFA want all team captains to don the logo ‘United Against Racism’ in this week’s European matches — which is unfortunate timing for Chelsea’s Terry, 31.

The move ensures the Blues skipper will once again be the centre of attention after his four-match FA ban and £220,000 fine for racially abusing QPR defender Anton Ferdinand at Loftus Road last October.

That is because the FA’s suspension only applies to domestic matches and means Terry is eligible to play for Chelsea in the Champions League tonight.

And so he must wear the armband.

A UEFA statement said: “Every team will be accompanied on to the pitch by children wearing ‘Unite Against Racism’ T-shirts and the captains will be asked to wear a ‘Unite Against Racism’ branded armband.”

The anti-racist campaign is being promoted at 40 matches across the Champions League and Europa League this week, along with films broadcast on giant screens.

There will also be special announcements to supporters at the games to encourage fans to join UEFA in its call to unite against racism in football.
