SANTI CAZORLA has made it his mission to halt Arsenal’s dive into trophy oblivion.

The Gunners have gone seven seasons without silverware since winning the FA Cup in 2005.

Arsene Wenger’s men are already 15 points off the Premier League summit but are still in the Capital One Cup and the Champions League.

And with a busy schedule over the Christmas period including tonight’s League Cup clash at Bradford, Cazorla is eyeing a medal come the end of the campaign.

The Spanish maestro said: “Arsenal are a great club with an illustrious history, but because of certain circumstances, they’ve gone a few years without winning anything.

“The objective now is to obtain a piece of silverware so that the fans can enjoy the sensation of winning again.”

Cazorla, 27, is enjoying his first season in English football after moving from Malaga for £16million in the summer.

And the creative star insists the atmosphere in the Arsenal dressing room is united and fully focused on success.

He added: “The dressing room environment varies from country to country, but at Arsenal there is a greater respect for the club because of its history.

“However, the general atmosphere never changes because every member of the team works together and that spirit is important to achieve success.”

For many foreign imports, the Premier League proves a tough nut to crack initially due to the speed and intensity of the games.

But Cazorla has made a seamless transition into England’s top flight, gaining plaudits with his easy-on-the-eye style.

He said: “I have adjusted well because I love English football, especially the way English people see the game.

“It’s not as tactical but it’s much faster and the atmosphere is incredible.”
