Spanish midfielder Santi Cazorla is set to become the third senior Arsenal player to sign a new contract after being involved in talks with senior club management that will see him remain at the Emirates until 2017.

Britain’s Daily Mail newspaper is reporting that the new deal will see the 29-year-old earn around £80,000 per-week.

The new deal for Cazorla is set to be announced along with new contracts for senior teammates Tomas Rosicky and Per Mertesacker.

Czech star Rosicky who is33-years-old has agreed to a new one-year contract that can be continued while German defender Mertesacker who is 29-years-old has agreed to a contract that will keep him with Arsenal until the summer of 2017.

The Gunners still however have not agreed terms with Bacary Sagna whose contract expires in the summer with the French international said to be reviewing options from a host of other European clubs that are interested including Paris Saint-Germain and Monaco.

Cazorla has been a key player in Wenger’s team since joining Arsenal from Malaga in 2012 that has seen him make 81 appearances for the club while scoring 18 goals with his touch and combination style of play considered being a crucial part of how Arsenal plays football.
