Juan Mata

According to the British newspaper the Sunday People French Ligue 1 champions Paris Saint-Germain are ready to make an offer to Chelsea for their Spanish international midfielder Juan Mata.

After having failed to sign a midfielder during the summer PSG is once more looking at the unsettled Mata with the club president Nasser Al-Khelaifi making £35 million available for a January transfer.

Despite not getting a regular place in the Chelsea team the 25-year-old told Chelsea’s official website: “I’m happy to play, I’m happy with how I played in the last three games and I’m happy with how the team played.

“I just try to do my best in every game and do everything I can in order to help the team. That’s what I’ve been doing and I’m feeling good.

“I think we’re in a good moment after the last three games. We won two of them and drew against Tottenham after playing really well in the second half, so now we have to keep going and build on that before the international break.”

The reference to the second half may have been pointing to himself, as he played extremely well, and provided the cross that led to Chelsea’s equalising goal.

Definitely staying at Chelsea at least for another year will be workhorses John Terry, Frank Lampard and Ashley Cole, after Mourinho has told them that they are still a vital part of the club.

This is especially good news for Terry whose place in the team was uncertain as the Portuguese manager goes after Porto centre-half Nicholas Otamendi.

The 25-year-old Otamendi is reported to be valued at around £20 and is looked upon as a replacement for the aging John Terry.
