Manchester United manager David Moyes was in attendance to watch Bayer Munich comfortably beat Borussia Monchengladbach 0-2 at the Borussia-Park last night to go ten points clear at the top of the German Bundesliga.

Despite initially being there to scout Gladbach’s Patrick Herrmann and Max Kruse German newspaper Bild is reporting that it was in fact Bayern’s Toni Kroos he was there to see play.

The German international midfielder’s contract is up next summer and so far the 24-year-old has refused to sign a new deal.

Chief executive Karl-Heinz Rummenigge talking to Kicker magazine said:  “To be honest…because the talks so far have not led to a new contract…it’s always about the money in every agreement.”

Bild add weight to their claim that Moyes was there to watch Kroos as the United manager was photographed in the company of Kroos agent Sascha Breese.

With United still lacking talent in midfield despite the arrival of Juan Mata from Chelsea if Moyes could sign Kroos who has 41 caps for the German national team it would go a long way to getting the Old Trafford faithful behind new boss Moyes.
