DAVID MOYES reckons divers like Luis Suarez will eventually drive fans away from football.

The Liverpool striker has been at the centre of a cheat storm for the way he goes to ground, enraging Moyes a year ago when his theatrical tumble earned Jack Rodwell a derby red card.

That was swiftly rescinded, yet the row rumbles on — and Everton boss Moyes fears it will backfire as people will ultimately grow sick of players trying to con officials.

Asked if he would have concerns about Suarez doing the same in tomorrow’s showdown, he insisted: “I would, yes. He has history and these people are very good at it.

“Last year a decision was made after 15 minutes which just about ruined the game. It was a dive and really poor by the referee.

“It will turn the public and fans off football if they think people are conning their way to results.” Moyes would back trial by video to nab the guilty men.

He added: “Retrospective viewing of diving is nearly more important than some of the other technology they are thinking about.”
