FLORENT MALOUDA has launched a stinging attack on “petty” Chelsea and accused them of trying to break him mentally.

The French winger, a key part of the Blues’ Champions League-winning campaign last year, has yet to feature this season after failing to agree a new contract.

He said: “If you’re left out for a year, that’s a very, very long time.

“It’s been done to break me mentally but it motivates me enormously.

“I will expose the details once I am free. The strategy employed has been to pass me off as a player looking for a significant pay rise.

“It’s petty but it makes me smile more than anything because it shows how much these people think of me.”

Speaking in French publication France-Guyane, the 32-year-old added: “I am still a Chelsea player so obviously I have to be reserved in what I say.

“I’ve respected that up until now and I will continue to do so.”
