Ahead of next weekend’s biggest match Liverpool star striker and the premierships top goal scorer with 23 goals in 22 appearances has told the British tabloid newspaper the Daily Mirror that a win over league leaders Arsenal would give the Merseyside outfit the moral boost they need after failing to beat West Brom at the Hawthorns last weekend.

Liverpool lost their first encounter with the Gunners 2-0 at the Emirates and the Uruguayan hit man will go all out to make amends for the early season loss.

“Arsenal are the leaders in the table and victory would be good for morale, give the whole squad an enormous injection and reduce the points difference at the top.”

“We didn’t have success at the Emirates, so our objective now is to win and I believe we have that chance.”

The Liverpool striker expects that the race to finish in the top four could come down to the wire for the Reds especially after having dropped two points against West Brom.

Suarez expects the race for the top four to go down to the wire – especially after Liverpool dropped two points against West Brom.

“It’s rare that everything could be decided on the last day, but we must keep going and to ensure that happens we need results against the other main candidates,” he added.

Liverpool defender Slovak international Martin Skrtel also joined in by saying Liverpool could beat the Gunners at Anfield:

“I’m confident we can beat Arsenal. We definitely have the strength to do so,” he said. “They are the leaders at the moment but we can give them a hard time.

“It won’t be an easy game but I am sure we can do something in front of our fans.”
