Reina

By Mark Finlay

It has been reported today that Liverpool goalkeeper Pepe Reina is on his way to Napoli for a medical before moving to the Seria A side in a year-long loan deal, after which he is expected to replace Victor Valdes in Barcelona.

Reina was thought to have fallen out with Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers after he told the 30-year-old Spaniard that he would be Liverpool’s number two keeper behind new signing Simon Mignolet from Sunderland.

The move will see Reina link up with Napoli manager Rafa Benitez who brought Reina to Merseyside in 2005, it will also unite the shot stopper with his old goal keeping Coach Xavi Valero.

Meanwhile Liverpool will see captain Steven Gerrard back in action following shoulder surgery as Liverpool play their first summer tour against an Indonesian XI in Jakarta this afternoon.
