THE Chinese claim they are closing in on Frank Lampard.

Reports from China last night confirmed our SunSport exclusives dating back to March that the Chelsea and England midfielder is the number one priority for Super League side Guizhou Rehne.

Lampard, who is out with a calf injury at the moment, has been offered £250,000 a week to move to the Far East and Guizhou want him in January.

Lamps, 34, is not dismissing the approach and has listened to what the Chinese have to offer.

Earlier this year, Guizhou chairman Wang Guolin told SunSport: “I want the best team in China and we are prepared to invest a lot of money to bring Lampard to us.”

The move is being masterminded by super agent Pini Zahavi who is brokering a number of deals in China.

But although talks are continuing with Lampard no deal has yet been agreed.
