JACK WILSHERE is poised to be fast-tracked straight on to the bench at Norwich today.

The Arsenal midfield star came through a 90-minute midweek friendly with Chelsea.

But he was not expected to feature in the first-team squad until the October 30 Capital One Cup clash at Reading.

England golden boy Wilshere, 20, has been out for 16 months with ankle, foot and knee problems.

Wilshere’s agent Simon Bayliff revealed his squad return on Twitter yesterday.

But then French rookie Francis Coquelin, who was to be an Arsenal sub at Carrow Road, pulled up in training with a knee injury.

So his absence means Arsene Wenger will put Wilshere on the bench.

But the Gunners boss is urging England to be cautious with the wonderboy.

He said: “The fate of the country is never to turn to one player.

“Even a player like Mikel Arteta doesn’t get called up for Spain — and once you have a problem like that in England, you will not need to go bonkers for anybody.”
