Radamel Falcao made an unusual choice when it came to moving from Atletico Madrid this summer by choosing Monaco over Chelsea with many people speculating that he will only be there for one year before moving back to Spain to join up with Madrid’s other team Real.

Falcao denies that he has any intent on returning to Spain saying that Monaco made him the best offer, and with their tax free status and a Russian Billionaire owner the team could be playing in the Champions League by the end of next season.

Here is what the Colombian striker said when talking to Columbian newspaper El Heraldo:

“I don’t think like this. Monaco enticed me because they have a long-term project, because their board are serious and because I love challenges.”

The star striker hopes to see former Porto team-mate Fredy Guarin join him at Stade Louis II this summer, after rumours suggesting that he could be leaving Inter Milan.

He added: “I hope Guarin comes, it would make me very happy. We are friends and at Porto, along with James (Rodriguez), we won many things.

“If the three of us play for the same club, that will be good for the national team.”
