Porto’s Brazilian midfielder Fernando would be quite an impressive replacement for the Manchester United bound Fellaini after Arsenal rejected the chance to sign the 25-year-old earlier this summer for £10 million.
“Whether Porto would let him go for that money at this late stage is another question – the club have previously indicated they would only do business for the €30m release clause in his contract.
“One who is on the way out at the Dragao is Juan Manuel Iturbe, with the diminutive playmaker set for a loan move to Serie A side Verona. Iturbe’s move would carry an option to make the move permanent for €8m, says newspaper O Jogo.”
Porto is a club that needs money, and if Martinez can sign Fernando for a reasonable price it will be a good day’s business for the Toffee’s.
