According to reports in this morning Spanish sports daily AS  Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho is planning to raid his old club for German international Sami Khedira, and is prepared to pay whatever it takes to bring him to Stamford bridge.

Sources say that the 26-year-old has already spoken to Mourinho, and that he is open to a move to London after last week criticising Real Madrid for selling his friend Mesut Özil to Arsenal.

Real Madrid however will be in the driving seat, and will push a hard bargain with Chelsea possibly asking in excess of £40 million for a player they know their former manager is desperate to sign.

Manchester United was also looking at Khedira as a possible solution to their midfield problems, but will not go up against Chelsea in a bidding war.

If these reports are true the German could be on his way to London as early as this January, as Mourinho looks to once again dominate the English game.
