Reports in the Sunday Mail suggest the Jose Mourinho is not ready to give up his pursuit of Manchester United’s Wayne Rooney, and has £30 million available should the England striker fail to sign a new contract with the club.
United is set to meet Rooney’s representatives sometime this month in order to try and hammer out a new contract, but doubt remains over what would happen should Manchester United fail to be in the Champions League next season.
Last summer when it appeared that Rooney wanted out of Old Trafford Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho admitted that Rooney was his only summer transfer target focusing attempts to sign him rather than some of the other big names that changed clubs like Cavani, Neymar, Götze and Falcao.
You can be sure the Blues man will be there again for the 28-year-old who he considers to be one of the world’s best strikers.
