Sky Sports is reporting that its sources say Chelsea has made a £20 million bid for Benfica midfielder Nemanja Matic.
The former Chelsea player joined Benfica in 2011 as part of the deal that saw David Luiz move to Stamford Bridge, and now Mourinho wants him back in order to help strengthen the Blues centre midfield.
The Serbian international has been capped 25 times by his country and has proved a huge success in Portugal, where he was named Primeira Liga Player of the Year last season.
Reports suggest that that Matic has a 37€ million buy-out clause in his contract so we will have to wait and see if the Chelsea offer is enough for Benfica to let him leave.
