Wayne Rooney’s future at Manchester United is looking darker by the hour as new manager David Moyes readies a £50 million bid for Napoli’s star striker Edison Cavani to partner Robin van Persie in the United attack.

Reports from the Catalan capital suggest that Wayne Rooney would be a perfect replacement for the outgoing Spanish international David Villa, and that for around a fee of £25 million think that they would have a bargain in the out of favour Scouser.

Three of the British tabloids are quoting a source out of the Nou Camp who has said: “Rooney is precisely the type of attacker that would fit perfectly into the system.

“Defence starts from the front at Barca and Rooney works harder than anyone. His first touch, movement, control and vision are phenomenal and if he comes on the market then the club are certain to try to sign him.”

Arsenal and Real Madrid are also involved in the Rooney situation, while we here at soccertransfers feel that Rooney has played his last game for Manchester United, and that a move away would benefit him and whichever new club he signs for.
