Arsenal

As we have been saying for some time now it looks very much like Arsenal are to be offered French international striker Karim Benzema by Real Madrid as they intend to buy Liverpool’s Luis Suarez.

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger tried to buy the Uruguayan hit man from Liverpool last summer, but their bid of just over £40 million was nowhere near Liverpool’s valuation of their top goal scorer.

Arsenal are desperate for a new striker and besides Suarez looked at Real Madrid’s Benzema in the summer, but were not prepared to pay the £40 million that los Blancos wanted at the time.

Benzema was originally signed from French club Lyon for £30 million, but now reports out of the Spanish capital suggest that Real Madrid boss Carlo Ancelotti is unhappy with Benzema, and would be willing to let him leave for £20 million after only managing to score two goals in eight appearances for the Spanish giants.

It appears that Luis Suarez is top of Real Madrid’s January shopping list, and would be available to play in the Champions league seeing as Liverpool are not involved in any European competitions.

It is a move that would also suit the Liverpool ace, so expect to read more about it in the coming weeks, along with rumours of who Liverpool look at as a replacement to play alongside Daniel Sturridge.
